Sports Podiatry

Assessment and treatment for sport-related foot and ankle problems.

Podiatrist treating a sport-related foot complaint

Overview

We assess mechanics, manage load and build a plan that helps you keep training.

Sport-related foot and ankle problems usually come down to load — training that increased faster than the tissues could adapt. Shin splints, Achilles pain, plantar fasciitis and forefoot overload all tend to follow this pattern, and managing them well means adjusting load, not just resting until the pain fades and then returns.

Assessment covers your training history, footwear, mechanics and gait. Treatment plans are built around keeping you active where possible, using progressive loading, strength work, footwear changes and orthotics where indicated.
