Heel & Arch Pain
Assessment and treatment for heel and arch pain.

Overview
We assess heel and arch pain and put a treatment plan in place to settle it down.
Heel and arch pain is one of the most common problems podiatrists treat. Plantar fasciitis — pain under the heel that is worst with the first steps of the morning — is the usual culprit, but Achilles issues, heel spurs and arch strain can present similarly and each needs slightly different management.
Assessment at home covers your history, footwear, foot posture and the way you move. Treatment usually combines load management, taping or padding, footwear changes, a progressive strengthening program and orthotics where indicated. Most heel pain responds well to conservative care, though it takes consistency over weeks rather than days.
